That's why I created Thriving Jewelz-a space for women like you and me to grow, be encouraged, and find faith in every season.

My Journey & Why This Blog Exits

I'm Julie-a wife, mom of four, and woman whose faith has been tested and strengthened through life's ups and downs. Over the span of two years, I experienced deep loss-losing my father, maternal grandfather, childhood best friend, and paternal grandmother. Grief changed me, but so did faith.

In the midst of my father's battle with colon cancer, he spoke words to me that I'll never forget: "Get your nursing degree." At the time, I didn't realize how much those words would carry me through the hardest moments of my life.

While in nursing school, I received the devastating news that my childhood best friend had suddenly passed away-while I was sitting in class. The weight of that combined with grieving of my father's illness and passing, became too much to bear, I failed out of the program. It was one of the lowest moment of my life but it also gave me the opportunity to confront my grief.

But faith wouldn't let me stop there. A year later, I returned to school, determined to honor my father's words and my personal calling. Through God's grace, I graduated two years later and passed NCLEX on my first try. I know with out a doubt that faith, perseverance, and God's strength carried me through.

Now I want to encourage other women to keep going-even when life gets hard.
